      <p class="para_topic"><img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/toolbars/analysis/analysis/screen_distance.gif" border="0">Use Screen Distance to create a temporary display of a ruler on the view plane, based on 2D screen positions that you specify. Use this tool whenever you want to get quick information for a distance. At times, you may need to perform a measurement, but do not have objects available to use with Analysis&rarr; Distance. This tool allows you to understand deviations the way you would by holding a ruler in front of an object. 
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">Screen Distance is useful any time you need to get a distance measurement that does not have to have high precision.</p>
      <div class="title_division">How to Get a Simple Screen Distance</div>

            <p class="para_item">Choose the Screen Distance icon from the Analysis Toolbar. Moving the cursor to the graphics window shows a ruler cursor tip, to remind you that the tool is active.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select a base point or screen position. Ruler animation begins. </p>

            <p class="para_item">Drag the end of the displayed ruler. Animation follows the movement of the cursor as you change screen position. </p>

            <p class="para_item">Specify a second screen position to the length and orientation you need to perform the measurement. A temporary display of the ruler is created, and remains on the screen until you perform a Refresh.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select Refresh (F5) to clear the display.</p>

            <p class="para_item">You can zoom and pan the model to collect different measurements. </p>

            <p class="para_item">You can invoke the Ruler from within other tools. </p>
