      </table><br><p class="para_topic">A part template can give you a head start when you create a new part. For example, a modeling part template might contain fixed datums and visualization preferences. A drawing part template might contain a drawing frame, part list, and standard views.</p>
      <div class="title_division">NX</div>
      <p class="para_division">In native NX, part templates are presented in a palette. Templates have the same file extension as normal NX parts.</p>
      <div class="title_division">NX Manager</div>
      <p class="para_division">In NX Manager, the software stores the template library in the folders with the master and non-master seed parts. It functions much like &quot;index.html&quot; on a webserver. In other words, if the palette definition exists, the system presents it; otherwise, NX generates a default palette display of the parts.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Sample part templates</div>
      <p class="para_division">When you purchase NX, we distribute sample part templates in sample palettes. We ship both inch and millimeter versions of template palettes. You can remove any templates you do not want using standard palette controls.</p>
      <p class="para_division">NX also provides a customer default that allows you to configure your default initial palettes.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Use a part template</div>
      <p class="para_division">To use a part template, simply  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('intro_to_nx/uiu_ab_pal_prt_open_p.html');return(false);">drag </a> it from a palette onto the model or background.

      <div class="title_division">Dynamic part type detection</div>
      <p class="para_division">If you perform a simple drag operation or select a part from a palette that does not contain classification information, NX dynamically attempts to detect what type of part it is based on the data in the part. NX then appropriately applies the part template to the displayed part, and starts the appropriate application. You can also use palettes to specifically declare a part as a particular type.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Modeling part template support</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can use part templates from an empty session or you can add them to an assembly, in which case they are made the work part. NX automatically starts the Modeling or Studio application.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Drawing part template support</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can drag a Drawing template on a face or in free space to indicate alignment to the model. NX makes the drawing a non-master containing the master model part onto which it was dropped.
