      <p class="para_topic">Search directories are a list of directories that NX checks when loading parts for an assembly or for updating a component. You can specify which directories are to appear in the list.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can specify which directories the system should search for components using the following options.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Add</p>
            </td>
            <td bgcolor="#f4f4f4" colspan="1" rowspan="1" valign="top">
               <p class="para_td">Adds a new entry to your search directory list. Enter a full path name and select Add. The new directory you entered then displays in the list of search directories.</p>
               <p class="para_td">To search all sub-directories of a particular directory, use the notation ... at the end of the directory pathname. Otherwise the system only search the specified directory.</p>
               <p class="para_td">Entries you add to your search directory list are effective only during the current session of NX. To make the new entries permanent, use the Save option.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Removes a directory from your search list by choosing it from a list, then choosing Remove.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Move Up &amp; Move Down</p>

            <td bgcolor="#f4f4f4" colspan="1" rowspan="1" valign="top">
               <p class="para_td">Changes the order of directories in your search list. Choose the entry you want to move in the list, then select the appropriate move option.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Session Dirs</p>
            </td>
            <td bgcolor="#f4f4f4" colspan="1" rowspan="1" valign="top">
               <p class="para_td">Automatically updates the search list with new path names based on the parts loaded in your current session. This option works only for path names not already present in the search list. The option is disabled if all parts in the current session come from directories already present in the directory search list.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Verify Dirs</p>
            </td>
            <td bgcolor="#f4f4f4" colspan="1" rowspan="1" valign="top">
               <p class="para_td">When working with assemblies and defining the part name matching rules and versional rules, you can validate these against existing parts using Verify Dirs. This option displays a listing for each directory in the search directories that have parts in them. The report shows, for each part in the directory, whether it conforms to the part file format, and if it does, which part version is the latest (see the Assemblies Help).</p>

      </table><br><p class="para_division">Search directories can represent approved parts, work in progress, new designs, and so on. The system searches the directories in the order in which they appear in your search directory list.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The system displays your present search list. Your current directory is by default the first entry.</p>
