      </table><br><p class="para_topic">A scene is a collection of visualization settings that together determine the way your model is displayed. You can update your view's background, reflections, lighting, and stage setup automatically using predefined scenes. NX gathers defined settings into a single location and automates many of the tasks required to create a realistic visualization.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">When you have a part open, you can drag a predefined scene from the <b class="uiTerm">System Visualization Scene</b> palette to your part&rsquo;s work view.

                  <p class="para_note_body">You can apply scene attributes to views without a license, however, to see all the scene effects you must switch to the Studio rendering style (this requires the UGS licensing for Studio rendering style) or High Quality Image rendering (this requires the UGS licensing for High Quality Image rendering).  </p>

      <p class="para_topic">After you drag a scene into your view, use the <b class="uiTerm">Basic Scene Editor</b> dialog box to make further changes to your background, scenes, lighting and reflection.

            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Stage</b> 
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">The stage is a cube whose walls are either reflective, invisible or shadow catchers. Click <b class="uiTerm">Show Environment Cube</b> on the <b class="uiTerm">Visualize Shape</b> toolbar to turn the display of the cube on or off. This button is not available when the Basic Scene Editor dialog box is open.

            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Reflection</b></p>
            <p class="para_item">Reflection on model geometry is based on the environment (background, stage/walls and so on) and materials applied to the model geometry. Material types such as mirror, conductor, and environment reflect the environment, whereas material types such as matte and plastic do not. The environment reflected on the model geometry depends on the selected type of the reflection. </p>

            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Lights</b></p>
            <p class="para_item">You can make minor adjustments to existing lights, such as intensity and orientation in the <b class="uiTerm">Basic Scene Editor</b> dialog box. For more sophisticated light editing, use the <b class="uiTerm">Advanced Lights</b> dialog box, which contains a list of active lights in the work view.

            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Image-Based Lighting</b></p>
            <p class="para_item">You can also adjust <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('visualizing_a_part/vie_vis_visfx_ibl_ov.html');return(false);">Image-Based Lighting</a> (IBL), which is a way to define a complex lighting scheme for a scene using a 2D image.

      <div class="title_division">Where do I find it?</div>
      <p class="para_division">The <b class="uiTerm">System Visualization Scene</b> tab is available on the Resource Bar when you open a part in NX.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">For the Basic Scene Editor dialog box, choose <b class="uiTerm">View</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Visualization</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Basic Scene Editor</b>.
