Also, leave the <b class="uiTerm">Point on Curve</b> option on the <b class="uiTerm">Snap Point </b>toolbar turned off unless you want to specify a specific point on a curve.

               <p class="para_td">Use this option when you want to measure a local minimum distance between two objects near the points selected. The two objects might be closer at some other location, but this measurement will find the closest distance in the vicinity of the points where the objects are selected.</p>
