      </table><br><p class="para_topic">When you plot or save a CGM file you can apply a banner, a block of textual information, to the plot output. The banner presents information about the plot, such as the part name, drawing sheet name, job name, user name, node (system) name, date, time, etc. The banner also can include an arbitrary message that you specify.  The following are additional uses for the banner:</p>
      <ul>

            <p class="para_item">Apply a banner in order to identify the source or purpose of the plot.  </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Document the status or history of plot content. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Support delivery or distribution of plots. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Track utilization of printing resources.</p>
         </li>
